The perks are awarded based on which category you fall into, which in turn is based on your total Uber spending over the last 24 weeks. The more you spend on Uber rides, the more points you obtain, the higher your category and the more rewards you can collect – these include priority pickups at airports, complimentary upgrades, free delivery on Uber Eats orders and even price protection between two favourite locations.

Points are obtained depending on the type of spending you participate in when using Uber, with POOL and Uber Eats granting 1 point per dollar, UberX granting 2 points per dollar and Premium granting 3 points per dollar. Uber’s main competitor Lyft also announced a rewards program shortly before Uber, although they’ve been extremely hazy on the details in what appears to be little but an attempt to steal Uber’s thunder.
