Now onto the good stuff! What’s it like to play Monster Hunter Generations? We know that Monster Hunter Generations sticks to the much-loved quest-based formula complete with gathering and crafting, but as always there are new monsters to fight and new weapons to slay them with. There are four new signature monsters to fight as well as some familiar grizzly faces, and the fourteen weapon types you’ll have seen in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate remain the same, but the big new feature is Prowler mode. Prowler mode lets you play as your Felyne for the first time ever in a Monster Hunter game. New special attacks called Hunting Acts have been introduced, as well as a new Hunting Styles system: Guild Style, Striker Style, Aerial Style and Adept Style, which should be interesting to play around with and master. Overall, it sounds like Monster Hunter Generations is going to be brilliant, and it’s already proven hugely popular in Japan. 1.5 million copies were sold in the first to days and Nintendo 3DS XL sales increased by 360% in the country as a result.
