LG has two different models of the in-ear headphones and the higher end ‘HBS-FN6’ option come with a UVnano case which supposedly means the earbuds clean themselves while charging. The case promises to rid your headphones of bacteria and germs with built-in ultraviolet light. A sort of digital bath for the wireless earbuds. A good job too as LG says that “earbuds can harbour more bacteria than a kitchen cutting board, leading to potential ear infections.” But the UVnano case can get rid of 99.9% of E. coli and S. aureus from the non-toxic, hypoallergenic silicone ear gel and inner mesh. As well as this nifty feature, the headphones have sound delivered by Meridian Audio complete with customised EQ sound settings and when fully charged, both models provide 6 hours battery life with the UVnano case taking things to 18 hours. The headphones also use a ‘new canal-type design’ for comfort and come in either matte Stylish Black and glossy Modern White. The Tone Free HBS-FN6 come in at £149 and will be available from 6 July. The cheaper HBS-FN4 model launches the same week at £99. LG also announced a range of other audio products as part of its 2020 range including XL and SL neckband headphones from £59, XBoom Bluetooth speakers from £49 and a load of SN soundbar from £199.
