The first thing you’ll have noticed is how similar both smartphones look. The V30 has kept the G6’s round corners, and taken it a step further by including rounded Gorilla Glass and extra curviness to the back. The same materials were used in design (glass and aluminum) and the colours don’t vary much either from one model to another (the G6 is available in White, Black or Platinum, while the V30 will also offer Blue and Purple options). We’ve noticed minor changes to the camera layout and it’s also worth mentioning that the V30’s screen includes smaller bezels, making it look more attractive. In terms of price, the V30 is set to be a little more expensive than the G6, which debuted at £649 in the UK, but the difference is minimal as the estimated debut price for the V30 is £699. You can now buy a G6 for a lot cheaper than its original price though, it’s possible to get it for £500 from Carphone Warehouse. The V30 is not available for pre-order just yet, but you can register your interest to be the first to find out more.

LG G6 VS LG V30: Features and Design

The V30 is a little larger and lighter than the G6 but the changes are too small to make a real impact on your experience. The bigger size does, however, provide the V30 with a larger screen and a superior body to screen ratio (81% compared to 78% on the G6). The resolution is the same on both phones (1440 x 2880), making the pixel density a little inferior on the V30, but it’s nothing to be too concerned about. You definitely won’t be able to tell. Both phones have a similar video quality, but the V30’s camera has been upgraded from a 13Mp on the G6 to a 16Mp. No changes were made to the front camera (13Mp on both). The V30 should also be considerably more powerful than the G6 as it is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, the best processor available, while the G6 had to make do with the Snapdragon 821.The CPU upgrades from quad-core on the G6 to octa-core on the V30, but the GPU remains the same (Adreno 540). Both phones enable fast-charging (up to 50% in under 30 mins) and they are equipped with the same 3300mAh battery.  Both are also dust- and water-resistant,with an IP68 rating. In terms of storage, the V30 comes with either 64GB or 128GB of storage while the G6 starts at 32GB. However, they both enable storage to be expanded up to 256GB through the MicroSD slot.
