How to make your own calendar: Funky Pigeon
Funky Pigeon offers the ability to create personalised calendars on its website. You can choose a template design from 65 different options to help you get started, whether you want a calendar for the whole family or one for an individual. There’s also the option to create a personalised year planner in various sizes. Prices start at £9.99 for the ‘Slim’ or ‘Desktop’ calendars, and go up to £13.99 for an A3 calendar. Then it’s simply a case of editing the text and adding your own photographs using the on-screen instructions before finalising it ready to be printed and sent over to you.
How to make your own calendar: Photobox
Similarly, Photobox offers a calendar creation service online, at a starting price of £18.99 (although keep an eye out for special offers). There aren’t as many themes to choose from (we still think you’ll find a theme you like, though), but you can add photo days into the calendar for an extra £2.99 per calendar as shown below and gift packaging for £2.00.
We found Photobox’s calendar creation tool simpler to use than the Funky Pigeon one, and there are some additional customisation tools that let you add more images and reposition them within the theme you’ve chosen.
How to make your own calendar: VistaPrint
Another option is VistaPrint, which allows you to create wall calendars, desk calendars, poster calendars, magnetic calendars and tiny pocket calendars. Prices from VistaPrint are usually brilliantly low, but make sure to watch out for the pesky postage charges. The theme options are lacking in comparison to some of the other services here, but there are lots of different layout options to choose from allowing you to add up to six images per month.

With prices starting at £14.99, Boots also has a calendar creation/printing service with a variety of themes and customisation options. There’s also the option to apply for 1 hour service, which means you can have your calendar printed and ready collect within one hour in selected Boots stores, handy if you’re thinking of creating a calendar as a last-minute gift. Choose between wall calendars, kitchen photo calendars, desk photo calendars and poster photo calendars.
How to make your own calendar: Jessops
Finally (though absolutely not the only remaining calendar creation service out there), Jessops offers personalised calendars from £12.99, including family calendars, portrait and landscape wall calendars, kitchen calendars, desktop calendars, appointment calendars and even school diaries and personal organisers.
